Before starting this read through of X-Men, we think that its important to give you an idea of our prior knowledge.

Ed collected X-Men on and off from 1991 until around 1995.

Dave read various X-Men comics on and off throughout the 90′s and collected New X-Men very closely from 2001 until 2004. There was also a lot of uncanny during that period, as well as various Spider-man titles, Captain Marvel and other assorted marvel stuffs.

Aside from this, our prior knowledge of X-Men employs a lot of the various movies and television shows that have been made, including the original animated series, as well as having lived our lives as shameless geeks. So while we feel somewhat familiar with this universe, it has largely been experienced second-hand.

In addition to reading the original X-Men, Ed is currently following Uncanny X-Men, All-New X-Men, X-Men, X-Force, Guardians of the Galaxy, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and Fantastic Four. Aside from Marvel he also currently follows Five Ghosts, Creepy, Eerie, Batman, Superman Unchained, The Star Wars, and Afterlife with Archie. His first love will always be horror movies.

Dave is currently following All New X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Spiderman, New Warriors, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Gaurdians, Thunderbolts, Sandman, The Maxx re-issues, and is considering Deadpool and All-New Ultimates. Dave is also going crazy waiting for Evangelion 4. Ed doesn’t know why.
